Stettler RCMP arrest youth for uttering threats against school and students – update

Stettler, Alta – After continued investigation, Stettler RCMP have been unable to verify the veracity of the initial source of the threat to shoot students at the William E Hay School. As such, the youth suspect has been released without charges. 

Although police believe the initial reports received from concerned complainants were made in good faith, the initial source of the threat may not have been legitimate. 

While RCMP continue the investigation, student safety remains our top priority.
