Slave Lake RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision – Update 2

Slave Lake, Alta. - Slave Lake RCMP are seeking public assistance in this police investigation involving a double fatality that occurred as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 2, near Hondo. Further investigation revealed the involved dark blue Dodge Durango (2024) bearing British Columbia licence plate RF6628, had passed other vehicles along Highway 2. Multiple statements have been obtained. 

At this time, Slave Lake RCMP are specifically reaching out to speak with the driver of a transport truck who was also passed by the involved dark blue Dodge Durango, just prior to the collision with the involved dark green SUV. Police are also seeking dash camera footage that may have recordings of this collision which occurred around 3 p.m., on May 3, 2026.
