Red Deer, Alta. – On June 2, 2026, at 12:03 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting people in a vehicle were pointing firearms at a second vehicle.

Police quickly responded and were able to locate the suspects who were cooperative. The firearm was located and discovered to be a replica firearm.

All parties involved in this incident are youth and have been educated about the implications of replica firearms and returned to their parents.

No charges have been laid, and no one was injured during this event.

Red Deer RCMP remain committed to public safety, and remind the public that replica firearms, including airsoft, pellet, BB, or toy guns designed to resemble real firearms, may result in seizure, criminal charges, or other enforcement action depending on the circumstances.
