Maskwacis RCMP charge an individual with firearms offences after flight from police – Update

Maskwacis, Alta. - On June 2, 2026, at 3:29 p.m., Maskwacis RCMP was proactively patrolling Samson townsite, when an officer observed an individual identified as a known wanted suspect walking on the road.  While police were exiting their vehicles to effect an arrest, the suspect fled on foot. RCMP pursued and arrested him a short distance away.  

All of the individuals warrants were executed, and they were additionally charged with resisting arrest.

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the individual was remanded into custody with the next court appearance in Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin on June 4, 2026.  

Maskwacis RCMP would like to thank the public for the information received on the suspects where abouts, which assisted RCMP in locating them.
