Grande Prairie RCMP warns the public after two assaults on the Muskoseepi trails – Update #2

Grande Prairie, Alta. - After a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Grande Prairie General Investigations Section (GIS), with the assistance from Grande Prairie RCMP General Duty members, Grande Prairie Police Service, Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and an RCMP Forensic Sketch Artist, a suspect was identified and arrested on June 10, 2026, in relation to the Muskoseepi trails assaults.
As a result of the investigation, a 18-year-old resident of Grande Prairie, has been charged with:
- Robbery;
- Aggravated assault;
- Assault causing bodily harm; and
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2).
The individual was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on June 17, 2026.
“We would like to thank the community and citizens of Grande Prairie for their assistance with these investigations, either through video surveillance, witness statements or other tips that ultimately led to Dafoe’s arrest” said Cpl. Kristy White of the Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section. “The RCMP and GPPS understand how these violent attacks have impacted the citizens of Grande Prairie, but want to reassure all that we remain committed to serving the city of Grande Prairie and keeping the citizens safe”.
