Forms

The RCMP produces forms in Portable Document Format, which are fillable and savable for your convenience.

Filling and saving PDF forms

To be able to fill in and save a PDF form, download and then open the form using the free Adobe Reader:

  1. Save the PDF fillable or savable form in a folder that you will easily find on your computer.
  2. Launch Adobe Reader.
  3. Browse to the folder where you saved the file, and open it from within Adobe Reader. You can now fill and save your PDF form.

Note

RCMP fillable or savable PDF forms have been tested for compatibility with Adobe Reader 9 and higher and may not be fully supported in other PDF viewers and on some mobile devices.

Individual licensing

RCMP 5592 Application for a Possession and Acquisition Licence Under the Firearms Act (for Individuals Aged 18 and Over) [PDF - 782 KB]

Use this form if you do not already have a licence or if your licence has expired.

This form should also be used:

  • to upgrade or downgrade a current licence, such as for a first-time licence
  • for a new licence if your current licence has expired
  • for a Possession and Acquisition Licence for a different class of firearm

If you are a first-time applicant, you can apply for your firearms licence online.

RCMP 5614 Application for Renewal of a Firearms Licence for an Individual [PDF - 711 KB]

Use this form to renew a Possession and Acquisition Licence that is still valid. Use form RCMP 5592 if you do not already have a licence or if your licence has expired.

You can renew your firearms licence online or by mailing the PDF form.

RCMP 5485 Application for a Possession Licence Under the Firearms Act (Minors)

Contact the Chief Firearms Officer of your province or territory to get this form.

If you are applying for a Minor's Licence for the first time, you can apply online.

RCMP 5642 Aboriginal Peoples of Canada Adaptations Regulations (Firearms) Application [PDF - 299 KB]

For members of an Indigenous community (for example First Nations, Inuit or Métis) who engage in the traditional hunting practices of that Indigenous community.

If you are a first-time applicant, and you are seeking a firearms licence under the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada Adaptations Regulations (Firearms), you can apply for your firearms licence online.

SQ-3007 In-person filing

For Quebec residents only.

Use this form if you live in Quebec and are applying to get restricted and/or prohibited firearms. You can download it from the Sûreté du Québec.

The English form is only available from the French page under Formulaires.

RCMP 5491 Application for an Authorization to Carry Restricted Firearms and Prohibited Handguns [PDF - 318 KB] If you want to apply for an Authorization to Carry for the purpose of protection from animals, you must contact your Chief Firearms Officer before you complete and submit this form. You may need to submit additional forms or information.
