New Brunswick RCMP releases 2024 Annual Report

The New Brunswick RCMP has released its 2024 Annual Report: Working together to create a safer New Brunswick, and the full report can now be viewed online.

The annual report highlights the dedicated work of our employees and the many ways we serve and protect communities across the province.

In 2024, the New Brunswick RCMP responded to 150,428 calls for service, a 1.06% increase from 2023. Among the many statistics also available in the report:

  • The top criminal code offence in 2024 was for assault, with 3,186 occurrences recorded by police, slightly less than recorded in 2023.
  • The RCMP issued 16,464 tickets for traffic enforcement in 2024, 7,155 of which were for speeding.
  • 96 vehicle collision-related fatalities, 66.7% of which involved impairment or not wearing a seatbelt

“In 2024, we welcomed several new advancements in public safety, expanded our workforce and increased our frontline policing capacity,” says Cpl. Matthew Leblanc-Smith of the New Brunswick RCMP. “In 2025, we remain committed to enhancing our service to the public by ensuring our resources, tools, and facilities continue to adapt to the evolving landscape of policing to keep New Brunswickers safe.”
