From executing outstanding warrants to disrupting drug trafficking and seizing illegal firearms, Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Teams (SERT) continued targeted enforcement efforts across the province throughout September.

Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT – which includes Crime Reduction Teams (CRT), the Human Trafficking and Counter Exploitation Unit (HTCEU), Offender Management Unit (OMU), Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Teams (STRT) and Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Teams (WEST) – helps protect community well-being by tackling serious and gang-related crimes and take dangerous drugs and weapons off the streets.

As a result of criminal investigations across the province last month, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT:

  • Made 46 arrests;
  • Laid 39 charges;
  • Executed 44 warrant arrests;
  • Facilitated 11 search warrants;
  • Seized seven firearms, 773 grams of cocaine, and 30 grams of methamphetamine.

Significant arrests executed in September include:

  • On September 2, WEST attended Mistawasis First Nation and located a male wanted for multiple offences involving firearms, three counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and fail to comply.
  • On September 2, Prince Albert WEST arrested an adult female for her warrants from Shellbrook RCMP. Offences were sexual assault and sexual interference.
  • On September 3, Prince Albert WEST arrested a Top 100 Offender in the city of Prince Albert. She was wanted by Melfort RCMP for offences of robbery, uttering threats and assault.

“These results demonstrate the impact of focused, intelligence-led enforcement across Saskatchewan. SERT teams are identifying and targeting individuals and criminal activity that pose a significant risk to our communities,” says Superintendent. Andrew Farquhar from Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT). “Every arrest, seizure and investigation contributes to our broader goal of making Saskatchewan communities safer.”
